To be in New York and walk out of this exhibit completely saturated. Wish I could snap my fingers and make it so. My youngest would go crazy excited for this.
MOMA’s current exhibit, Color Chart, focuses on the works of 44 contemporary artists for whom color comes straight out of the tap, rather than mixed on the palette. The notion of color as a readymade exemplified by Frank Stella - “Straight out of the can; it can’t get better than that.”
Zobop! by Jim Lambie, 2006 - on the floor of the museum
10 Large Color Panels by Gerhard Richter, 1966/ 71-72
Rebus by Robert Rauschenberg, 1955
The Studio {Red Devil Color Chart No. 1}, 1963 by Jim Dine

MOMA has created a comprehensive site for Color Chart, allowing you to view and search works by timeline, medium and artist, as well as curated a selection of colorful objects in the always-fun shop. The two seem perfect for my life.
