Art Translated

Serendipitously I came across the artwork of Jeff Depner and being an enthusiast of stripes, polka-dots and cool spins on geometry it really made me happy. After perusing his site for a bit, I discovered that Pringle of Scotland used his work as inspiration for their Spring/Summer Collection of 2012. How awesome is that! Can you think of any other rad artwork that has directly translated onto the runway?

Moop's variety of beloved bags are not only impressive at first glace when it comes to their cool minimal design, but when I learned that they are handmade with care in their Pittsburgh studio by a small group of mindful people including the owner Wendy, I was amazed and delighted. I am putting some of these lovelies on my wish list for sure. The problem I am having is picking just one, they are all so gorgeous. Chance Collection

The new photos from the stunning Chance collection have me swooning, especially since I have been planning a little getaway for next week, they put me in the most dreamy relaxed mood. Their clothes which incorporate lots of lovely stripes are simple and elegant and perfect for the spring and summer. I also am digging their discoveries page where they explore their inspirational sources like the French Seaside and more. Yes! It is very well done. They just opened a pop-up-shop at 211 Elizabeth Street in Soho, really wish I was currently in New York to stop by.
Photography is by the talented Chris Shipman and Kate Jones is the model who is also a jewerly designer.

Liberty London + Nike Kicks

These gorgeous Liberty of London Nike kicks have just been added to my wish list. They debuted a selection of these a few years ago (which of course sold out) but they are coming out with even more of these babies starting on April 1st -- tomorrow! They will start out being sold exclusively at Liberty and according to their blog you will be able to get them online and with international delivery! Hooray.

Margaret Howell

The relaxed and classic sophisticated Spring/Summer looks from the England based Margaret Howell's collection are very lovely and the color combos and styling are spot on. The designer states on her about page that she designs "...clothes that are meant to be worn in the real world, where good design is about living with thoughtful style." I love that! 

I also enjoy how Brits use the word 'trousers' instead of pants, what word(s) do you wish we used more in the states?
